what are people saying?

I saw Warren for a climbing-related injury since I wanted a physiotherapist with sport specific-experience. Warren is highly knowledgable, friendly and encouraging and he took the time to work with me to develop a tailored recovery plan. As a climber himself, he completely understands the frustration when an injury sidelines you and the desire to get back out there as soon as possible. He balances recovery with recommendations for return to activity perfectly and had me recovered and back at it faster than I expected. I would absolutely, 100% recommend Warren, not only for a climbing-related injury, but for any injury which keeps you from enjoying your favourite activities.

Best in town - especially if you're a climber. As a climber, I've had a few shoulder and upper back injuries where I've consulted Len and Warren at Elios health. They're both amazingly knowledgeable in their craft and I've been able to resolve my injuries with their help. I'd highly recommend checking them out if you need any physio attention.

— Niko Peiponen

“I have had the best experience with the staff at Elios Health in special with Dr. Marieta Buse ND. By far she is the best practitioner I have been treated. I have received two prolotherapy sessions combine with acupuncture in my right elbow due to a severe tendonitis. As a recreational tennis player and eager to be back in the courts, Marieta had the right answers to all my questions. She is not only professional but so passionate for her job, since the first time I met her she listened carefully and nailed right away the origin of the pain in my elbow. I am happy to write that I am back to the courts pain free. Infinitely thank you, Doctor Marieta.”

built for athletes. designed for results.

We’re not a spa. We’re not a factory.

We’re a crew of clinicians who climb, lift, run, ski, tumble, and train, just like you. At Elios Health, we use real physiotherapy, IMS (dry needling), personal training, RMT massage, acupuncture, lab testing, naturopathy, and sport nutrition to get athletes back to peak performance, without wasting time on fluff.

Whether you're attempting the Grouse Grind for the first time, recovering from a blown pulley, grinding through nerve pain, or dealing with that deep, nagging shoulder pinch from a big fall or years on the wall, we’ve got you covered.

No gimmicks. Just one-on-one care. We are located in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant on Main Street, our physiotherapy clinic runs on focus and flow. You won’t find therapists juggling multiple clients, and they won’t leave anyone on machines and walk away.

You get our full attention, from start to finish, because recovery isn’t something we multitask.

Our team treats a full range of musculoskeletal issues that show up in active, high-impact lifestyles, whether it’s gymnastics, climbing, trail running, or bike commuting across the city.

We work with:

  • pulley tears & finger injuries

  • labral and rotator cuff tears

  • concussions & post-MVA symptoms

  • nerve pain & thoracic outlet

  • ankle and hip mobility restrictions

  • frozen shoulder, neck tension, trigger finger, biceps tendonitis, and more

insurance-friendly & athlete-tested

We direct bill to most major insurance providers so you can stay focused on recovery.

Whether you’re hauling up granite, hammering singletrack, skinning before sunrise, or running ridgelines 'til your legs give out, we’re here for it. Elios Health is built for Vancouver’s outdoor community: rock climbers, trail runners, gymnasts, backcountry skiers, and anyone who’d rather be breathing mountain air than scrolling indoors.

Movement is the backbone of everything we do. Every treatment plan is designed not just to repair, but to prep your body for whatever’s next.

Between performance sessions, book in with a Main Street massage therapist or acupuncturist to keep things tuned up, loosened out, and ready for another round. Whether you need a reset or just a breather, we’ve got you.

  • physiotherapy

Our dedicated team of physiotherapists have backgrounds in sport, exercise physiology and human kinetics. One-on-one appointments mean the time during your appointment is dedicated specifically for you. Our therapists use manual therapy and may be combined with IMS (functional dry needling), prescriptive exercise and Pilates. They are familiar, or even experts in a variety of sports, and they support recovery and plan for performance.

  • RMT Main Street

Our massage therapists know how hard you work. Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) are important practitioners to support recovery, self-care, and athletic performance. They understand how to support clients towards their physical and mental well-being with a variety of musculoskeletal techniques. Our Registered Massage Therapists help both athletes and stressed-out, overworked folks. Browse our Frequently Asked Questions page to learn more about the clinic.

  • naturopathy & prolotherapy

Prolotherapy is a mixture of dextrose (sugar) and procaine (a non-toxic anaesthetic) that provides enough inflammation at a site of injury to promote the body’s natural healing response. More specifically, prolotherapy helps funnel growth factors and cells that produce collagen, like fibroblasts, to the injured soft tissue structures that need them.

View our prolotherapy page to learn more.

  • IMS / functional dry-needling

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), also known as functional dry-needling, is used by our Main Street physiotherapists and other certified health care practitioners who are trained, have passed an exam, and are certified by their respective Colleges. We use a thin, acupuncture-style needle inserted into myofascial trigger points in order to elicit a response in the muscle.

IMS is highly popular and in demand, and our practitioners always do a thorough assessment before determining if it is the best choice of treatment. Click here to learn more.

  • Sports Massage (non registered)

Sports Massage folks are those practitioners who are have training other than RMT. They are not registered, and so their appointments cannot be claimed on most benefit packages.

Prices are often 50% lower than RMTs.

  • Main St Acupuncture

Crystal GIlhooly is our sports acupuncturist who uses research-backed Traditional East Asian Medicine combined with neuroscience to get athletes to their goals. Manage stress, recover from injury, and rebuild your athletic output.

Dr. Marieta Buse, ND, also uses acupuncture as part of her Naturopathic Physician treatments. Dr. Buse is a co-author of the 2018 & 2020 ProHealthSys textbook on Orthopaedic Assessment and a contributing author of the 2021 ProHealthSys textbook of Naturopathic Physical Medicine.
